Licensed & Insured — NYC Fire Protection
FDNY-Certified Technicians, City-Licensed Work and Full Liability and Workers' Compensation Coverage — Certificates of Insurance Issued the Same Day You Ask

A Licensed and Insured Fire Protection Contractor in New York City
In New York City, "licensed and insured" is not a marketing line — it is the difference between work that passes inspection and work that gets torn out. Fire suppression installations must be filed and signed off by certified personnel. Sprinkler and standpipe work requires licensed tradespeople. Building management will not let a crew past the loading dock without a certificate of insurance naming them as additional insured. If your contractor cannot produce these on request, you inherit the risk.
Master Fire Mechanical has served New York City businesses, property owners and managers since 1969. We carry the certifications required to install, inspect, test and file on fire protection systems in the five boroughs, and we maintain full general liability and workers' compensation coverage on every job.
Certifications Our Technicians Hold
Our field personnel carry the FDNY Certificates of Fitness required for the work they perform — including suppression system installation and servicing, portable fire extinguisher servicing, and sprinkler and standpipe system testing. Suppression system plans and filings are prepared and submitted by FDNY-certified personnel, so your paperwork is accepted rather than returned.
Insurance Coverage and Certificates
We carry commercial general liability, workers' compensation and disability coverage on all work performed. Certificates of insurance naming your building, landlord or management company as additional insured are issued the same day you request them — before the crew arrives, not after your building rejects them at the door.
Why It Matters on Your Job
Unlicensed or uninsured work creates problems that outlast the invoice. Installations filed by uncertified personnel get rejected. Systems installed without proper certification fail FDNY inspection and have to be redone. An injury on your property by an uninsured crew becomes your liability. Insurance carriers deny claims when the fire system servicing records do not hold up. Working with a properly credentialed contractor removes all of that from your plate.
Ask Us for Documentation
We are happy to provide proof of licensing, certifications and insurance before any work begins, and we expect you to ask. Call (646) 772-1244 and we will send what your building requires.
Licensing and Insurance FAQs
Are you licensed to perform fire protection work in New York City?
Yes. Our personnel carry the FDNY Certificates of Fitness and trade licensing required for the fire protection work we perform in the five boroughs, including suppression system installation and servicing, portable fire extinguisher servicing, and sprinkler and standpipe testing.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?
Yes, and usually the same day you ask. Send us your building's requirements and the exact additional insured language they need, and we will have the certificate issued before our crew is scheduled.
What insurance do you carry?
Commercial general liability, workers' compensation and disability coverage on all work performed. We can provide current certificates on request for any job.
Why does it matter who files my suppression system?
FDNY requires suppression installations to be filed by certified personnel, with drawings that match the system as actually built. Filings submitted by uncertified parties get rejected, and installations that do not match the drawings fail inspection — which usually means paying twice.
What happens if I use an uninsured contractor?
You absorb the risk. An injury on your property becomes your exposure, most managed buildings will refuse the crew access, and your own insurance carrier may contest a claim if the servicing records behind your fire systems do not hold up.
Do you service systems installed by other companies?
Yes. We inspect, repair, recharge and re-certify all major fire protection brands, including systems we did not install, and we can correct and re-file work that was done improperly.
How long have you been operating in New York City?
